A few Favorites from Sweets and Gifts to Decor and Dining

I always find myself a little blue after taking down all of the festive holiday decorations. Everything seems to look so bare in January – and the weather isn’t exactly cheery either. Then February ushers in Valentine’s Day with its celebrated vibrant reds, lush pinks, and crisp whites. Tulips begin to show up at stores and everything is just a little bit sweeter.
Here are a few of my current favorites to help refresh your space, gift a little love, and get into the spirit of Valentine’s:
Decor
Add a whimsical pillow or two to your boudoir. I love this one by Hill House Home. Of course, it doesn’t get any more classic than D. Porthault’s famous Coeurs printed pillows and linens (shown in the photo above). You can now bring home the beautiful prints and patterns of D. Porthault with their gorgeous new book.
Have a little fun with your floor coverings with this Annie Selke pink spotted rug or this pretty rose micro-hooked rug. Add a little pop to your half bath with these monogrammed coral tea towels.
Flowers
Valentine’s Day just isn’t Valentine’s Day without flowers. Whole Foods and Amazon have partnered together this year to offer two dozen roses for $19.99 for Prime members. And don’t forget the vase. These modern Jonathan Adler vases (here and here) are great statements in a basic white for almost any end table or bookcase.
I’m also looking forward to diving into the colorful tabletops and floral arrangements by Cathy Graham in her new book, Second Bloom, available here (pictured above).
Dining
All eyes are naturally on your table for Valentine’s Day, so don’t neglect it. This doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune on a new set of red or pink dishes either. Mix in a few of these red and white striped dessert plates with your basic white plates for a bright pop of color.
These coral gingham napkins (pictured above) are a wonderful way to infuse a little Valentine’s spirit without going overboard. You also can’t go wrong with a few of August Morgan’s witty linen hemstitched napkins. These are a personal favorite of mine. Sasha Nicholas makes the most elegant European porcelain napkin rings. You can find them here in a set of four.
Sweets
I always try to have cellophane bags and festive wired ribbon on-hand near Valentine’s Day. It’s a quick and easy way to repackage store-bought candy into something that feels personal and special. Good quality ribbon is getting harder and harder to find. This Etsy shop has ribbon in a classic Greek Key and pink plaid.
I’m a big baker and these sprinkles shown above by Fancy Sprinkles are right up my alley. They have the most unique combinations of colors and sizes for almost every holiday. They are definitely a new favorite source of mine.
Gifting
Skip the usual box of chocolates this year for a bento box full of Sugarfina’s unique treats. Pick your bento box size and add fun treats like the champagne gummy bears shown above, tequila sour gummies, or caramel sweethearts.
SoulCycle also released a few blush items just in time for Valentine’s Day. Gift these rose quartz leggings or pink hoodie along with a gift card for a ride or two and make your sweetheart’s day.
Make a statement and add a little spice with this bold red notebook, a part of Smythson’s Panama collection. Or, pamper your loved one with a gift set by Molton Brown. I also love to gift any and all of the gift sets by Crabtree & Evelyn.
Have a sweet Valentine’s!
