Trust me when I say that you will want to block off time between now and January 8th to see this stunning exhibition at the always-beautiful Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens.
The exhibition, Grace of Monaco: Princess in Dior, honors the life of Princess Grace of Monaco and is the first time the exhibit has appeared in North America – and what a perfect setting for it at Marjorie Merriweather Post’s estate. A true blend of classic, timeless design.
A tastemaker like Marjorie Merriweather Post, Grace Kelly had a carefully cultivated image and refined style to complement it. This exhibition honors her friendship with Marc Bohan, artistic director at Christian Dior. It’s a true treasure to see her life through some of the most special pieces of her wardrobe. Every dress has a story. It is a true feast for the senses.
I’m including some of my absolute favorites in this post. The details of these pieces are exquisite…that pleating! The tassel fringe sleeves! The hours and hours of work that must have been involved in this gorgeous wardrobe! You’ve got to see them for yourself.
Grab a few friends and visit the exhibition during Hillwood’s normal hours, Tuesday-Sunday, 10am-5pm. No special ticket is required. We also can’t recommend enough a visit to the Merriweather Cafe for frose and delicious bites.
