Your door sets the tone as your guests arrive. Make sure it has its shining moment when it comes to decorating for Thanksgiving and the holidays. I’ve had a few readers reach out about wreaths I’d recommend, so I thought it probably warranted its own post.
My favorite holiday wreath, once December hits, is a natural one. For Thanksgiving and fall, we usually use one that my mom helped make ages ago. You can do a lot of customization when you have a good base. Any of these wreaths below would be instantly spruced up with the addition of a thick, wired ribbon bow. Even the magnolia wreath would benefit from a burgundy, green, or true red bow, though it also happily can stand on its own. The beauty with adding a bow to the boxwood or bay leaf wreaths is you can remove it and bring them back out for spring – just change out the ribbon for a gingham one or striped one.
Can you imagine a dusty blue ribbon woven around the bay leaf wreath or boxwood wreath below?
You can elevate a more rustic style by adding a beautiful thick velvet bow. I’d use either a golden yellow ribbon or a French blue ribbon.

My autumn wreath is built off of a grapevine wreath, a very good (and inexpensive) base to build on. You can weave in lush ribbon, tack on autumnal picks (Michael’s always has a great selection), and fasten them all with a glue gun. Voila!
Here are two that would be lovely with slight tweaks. I love slight tweaks. I would *gently* rip off the bow on this berry wreath and replace it with my own in the same tonal red velvet for a monochrome look, or a slightly darker red for a little contrast and elegance. This wreath could stand alone if the ribbon was high enough quality, but you could also replace it with one that’s a higher quality. I actually like the color and texture they’ve gone with.
Not into DIY? No problem. These stunners are beautiful just as they are.

Finally, let’s not forget about storing these beautiful pieces. You all know I love The Container Store, and they have a few great options. Here is one with a handle. It’s currently in my cart. Here is a version that slips under the bed. This storage solution from Target offers double wreath storage, perfect if you have a pair of doors. And, here is one that also offers two-in-one-container storage.
Cheers, friends!

Thanks, Steph! These are great! So helpful (as always)!
I’m so happy to hear it! Thank you!!
