Our Detox Party

Invitation: Paperless Post

Since most New Year’s Resolutions start falling off around February and March, we thought it was the perfect time to recommit and host a detox party with some of our girlfriends. I was thrilled to partner up with my dear friend Lindsay, who recently completed her Yoga Teacher-in-Training – and is a pro at leading life vision-boarding sessions.

Our table was set with a bright blue and white striped Kate Spade tablecloth (a Home Goods find, though available here in a runner and in taupe here). For the arrangement, I used whites and greens – hydrangea blooms and white filler flowers in a monogrammed Mark and Graham vase. I stacked several different La Croix sparkling waters with gold and white paper straws (similar here) onto a vintage silver tray. Since we were starting off with yoga, we made sure to have plenty of water. These green and aqua Caspari napkins are some of my favorites and were the perfect accents to the blues in the tablecloth.

A bowl of boldly colored oranges served both as a pop of color and as a divide between bottled water and La Croix and the toast bar.

We started off the morning with this detoxifying lemon ginger turmeric tea. The fresh burst of ginger and lemon makes this tea extra energizing.

Lindsay took us through a series of yoga poses, specifically ones for professional women. They were so rejuvenating. She led us through poses to help our posture after sitting at a desk all day, to support our calves after a long day in our Louboutins, and so many more.

We thought it would be fun to have a toast bar before our vision-boarding session. We set out different kinds of breads (oats and grain, whole wheat, etc.), various butters (peanut, almond, and hazelnut spread), and, of course, avocados and everything bagel seasoning. I use this Williams Sonoma Nito condiment set all the time – great for indoors and out – so thought I’d link to it here. I also have the tray and caddy.

While our bread was toasting (love our 4-slice toaster), we made this friendly kale smoothie. The grapes, pear, and freshly squeezed orange juice cut the bitterness from the kale, making it more of a fruit smoothie that’s packed with the leafy green superfood. It’s one to try even if you don’t care for green juices, like yours truly.

We ended our morning with vision-boarding led by Lindsay. She walked us through an exercise that had us jotting down the things we value most in one minute, then we began shaping our goals around them. We ended up in deep discussions and it was one of the most fruitful mornings I’ve spent in a while!

We hope this inspires you to take a look at your goals for 2018 – it’s never too late! – and enjoy a few good recipes along the way. A special thanks to my fabulous friends and models for the day!
