Lavender, Blush, and Robin’s Egg Blue

(Photo: my own, from The Greenbrier)

We’re officially into spring and for this warm-weather southerner, it couldn’t have come soon enough. I love the changing of the seasons – spring and fall are my absolute favorites. They’re the two seasons that ease you into the rest. The weather begins to transition lightly, either cooler or warmer, and both seasons give you something to look forward to, whether that’s hosting lunch on the patio or curling up by the fire.

Let’s not forget about our homes or get-togethers either. They get to transition along with us, and spring brings all kinds of muted brights, like lavender, blush, and Robin’s Egg Blue to decorate with, whether it’s your table or your sunroom.

Lavender

Lavender appears to be the color of the moment, and really, what better way to welcome in a new season than with this light marriage between pink and violet? My friend Rachel sticks sachets in with her stored linens for a beautiful fresh scent. You can find lavender sachets on Amazon, here, and here.

Glassware in this beautiful pastel is a fabulous neutral for a spring table. It goes easily with white, blush, and that classic blue and white combo. These glasses (pictured below) are available in two sizes and are on sale, too.

Blush

Being in Washington, DC and the surrounding area, I’m partial to blush. Every year, the cherry blossoms bloom around the Potomac, decorating the Jefferson Memorial’s lawn and the tidal basin a light pink. Taper candles and candle holders are great ways to bring this pastel onto your table. I love these vintage pressed glass candlestick holders (pictured below).

I plan on infusing a little more color into our Easter table with these blush taper candles and these votive candles (bonus: they come in votive holders already). This Shanghai dragon candle in pink would be terrific in a room that’s heavily white or blue – and it’s under $30.

These sweet pink gingham pillow covers (and the navy is fabulous, too) are easy updates for your living room, sunroom, or bedroom.

Simple pink linen napkins look instantly cheery with a sprig of rosemary or fresh flowers tied around them. Their casual look carries them easily from your brunch table out to the patio.

Pair your spring glasses, coasters, and napkins on this square tray, or use it to update your coffee table for the new season.

I couldn’t help it – how fun is this can cooler at Tuckernuck (pictured below)?

Robin’s Egg Blue

You all know by now my affinity for blue and white (see this blog post), so it should come as no surprise that Robin’s Egg Blue is one of my springtime favorites. It’s a bright pastel that wakes up any table – and is a perfect pop for your interiors, too.

Lose the heavy down comforter and brighten up your bedroom easily with this pique coverlet by Matouk.

My new friend Shauna turned me onto Farrow and Ball’s light blue – a light silvery go-to for those of you looking for a beautiful blue for your walls.

These lizard coasters by Caspari would be a welcome addition to any end table or coffee table. I love these guest towels with a Robin’s Egg border, also by Caspari (and under $10).

This sweet green tea and lemon candle by Tocca has the most simple yet elegant holder with a touch of blue.

And these chargers are a wonderful element to any springtime table. Pair them with your existing whites, a blue tablecloth, and delicate white hemstitched napkins.

I hope this inspires you to let a little spring into your hosting and homes. Cheers!
