Salad servers are often overlooked as a hostess gift, but they really are a perfect way to bring something thoughtful for your host’s future parties.

I’m often cautious when gifting for the kitchen or tabletop unless I know the sort of things the recipient likes. Salad servers are a fun way to gift a little something that has some real thought into it, but won’t overtake a spread at a party like a big, unique platter might. They don’t take up much kitchen real estate either. And a bonus? They’re sold as a pair, so you don’t have to worry about rolling the dice on buying a set of four or eight of something if your friend typically hosts for that many guests.

A good set of salad servers can be a wonderful conversation starter. A have a few pairs myself and always enjoy using different ones for different occasions. They’re an easy way to update a tabletop or infuse something fun without it being “too much”. Here are some of my favorite recent finds:

Olivewood

Wooden servers add a rustic comfort to a tabletop. They pair surprisingly well with silver, marble, and even some of the more contemporary table fixtures. I love these from Sur la Table.

Marble

You guys know I love marble tabletop accessories, so it’s no surprise that I’m loving these marble-handled servers from One Kings Lane. This marble and stainless steel pair is also a great go-to.

Braided or Thatched

I love Michael Aram’s salad servers and these thatched gold ones are sheer perfection. These aren’t braided or thatched, but I have to share them anyway because I think I’m in love: these calla lily servers and these olive servers.

Botanical

These forest servers would be such a fun addition to a fall party or Friendsgiving table. The asparagus servers from Beatriz Ball here are so unique – and a steal at just under $60! These acorn oak leaf servers are perfect for the holidays and I love the wooden accent, too.

Beaded

Of course, I adore anything with bows and beads. These Lenox salad servers are too much fun and are on sale for under $30. You can’t go wrong with Beatriz Ball or Mariposa. Here is a great beaded pair from Mariposa.
